Activities
As part of the greater Kruger National Park, which covers an area of 2.2 million hectares, Kings Camp offers a wealth of bio-diversity. Whether it is a leopard on the hunt, lions roaring at twilight, hippo wallowing in the river, or a crocodile basking on a sandy bank; each viewing will enthral.
Morning & Afternoon Game Drives
Morning and afternoon game drives with knowledgeable rangers in open vehicles. You will be served tea, coffee and biscuits on your morning game drive and drinks and canapés on your afternoon game drive. Your afternoon game drive gets back after dark, which gives you the opportunity to spot our nocturnal animals with a spotlight.
Private Safaris
Why not book a Private Safari Vehicle allowing you to set your own pace on your safari. The day is yours... you have your guide and a vehicle at your disposal... This is the perfect opportunity to really explore the Reserve. You can choose to spend the entire day on a game drive, stopping when and where you want. This is certainly the ultimate for bird spotting and great for avid photographers.
Game Walks
There is no better way of getting closer to nature than on foot. Game Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast, on request. Your knowledgeable ranger guides you through the the smaller aspects of the bush, as well as the fauna and flora of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. This is the best way of experiencing the “finer” aspects of the bushveld. You will be in awe as you discover animal tracks, dung, insects, trees and birds and how they all come together in an intrinsic ecological web of life. For safety reasons, children under 16 years of age are not permitted on the walks.
Photographic Safaris
Globally renowned as one of the best places to photograph Africa’s Big 5 – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Cape Buffalo and Rhino, a wildlife and nature photographic expedition to this region will leave guests enthralled. Guests can revel in the warmth of gracious hospitality, while experiencing an outstanding and luxurious South African Photographic Safari. Photographers and their spouses get to enjoy the best of Kruger National Park guided by Africa’s most sought-after and awarded photographic expedition leaders.
Bird Watching
Bird-lovers would struggle to replicate the calibre of bird watching anywhere else in the world, with the Timbavati featuring over 360 different species. Walking safaris are a great way to enjoy the birdlife in the reserve, but the ultimate for birdwatchers is booking a Private Safari vehicle where you have no time restrictions and you choose your sightings.
